Are you looking for a way to gain better muscle definition and build self-confidence? When working out just isn’t helping to shape those muscles, body implants are an extremely effective solution. Dr. Berhane’s office offers male pectoral implants, bicep and tricep implants, buttock implants, and calf implants.
Body implants can add muscle definition to areas of the body while also making these areas more proportional to the rest of the body. Whether you’re seeking to add volume, bulk, or muscle tone, these implants will do the trick.
Body implants are made of silicone. When people hear this word, they may worry about leakage. But because these implants are solid, there is minimal risk of rupture or leakage. Solid silicone body implants are shaped and sized to appropriately augment the patient and help them meet their cosmetic goals. They are soft yet firm to simulate the feeling of muscle. Various textures are also sometimes available.
Implant-based body augmentation procedures can take anywhere from 45 minutes to two and a half hours, depending on factors such as implant size and location. To begin the procedure, anesthesia (general or local with sedation) is administered to the patient.
Incisions are then created. These incisions are made in order to allow the surgeon to create a pocket in the tissue of the area, which will house the implant.
For pectoral implants, incisions are either created in the lower part of the chest, the areolae areas, or the armpits. For bicep and tricep implants, they’re made in the armpits or sometimes the upper arms. Buttock implants require an incision in the crease between the buttock cheeks or at the bottom of the cheeks. Calf implants require an incision in the crease area behind the knee.
Once these access points have been created, the pockets are made. These can be either above or beneath the muscle, depending on the procedure and the preferences of the surgeon. The implant is then placed inside the pocket, and dissolvable internal sutures may be used to affix the implant to the tissues of the area.
After the doctor has ensured that the body implants are symmetrical in placement and shape, medical sutures will be used to close the incisions. Bandages may be used to wrap the augmented areas.
A healing period will be necessary following your body implant surgery. During this, various measures will be recommended that will make the recovery period as comfortable as possible. You may need to wear a compression garment or keep various areas elevated in order to minimize swelling. Pain medication may be prescribed.
While you’re healing up, you’ll be off of work and resting. Dr. Berhane will recommend an appropriate time for you to return to your daily schedule of activities. Actions that could cause pressure and strain to the areas should not be attempted before permission is granted by Dr. Berhane, and only after the full healing period has been completed will patients be able to resume their exercise routines.
Once the swelling has gone down, your calves, pectoral muscles, biceps, triceps, or rear end will be looking better than ever. Find out more – contact Dr. Berhane’s office and arrange a consultation. Contact us today for a consultation.
